House of Trade Membership
Membership in the House of Trade is available to all members with a trade skill. The only pre-requisites are that you are a full member of the kinship and that you have started a trading vocation that you intend to develop. (Each member is allowed to join more than one House but may only have one character in each House)
The Council as a kinship has a vested interest in developing its craftsmen. One of our priorities is to ensure that every member has access to the best possible equipment and supplies. With evil reaching into every corner of middle-earth, there are countless obstacles that stand between you and the as yet unwritten songs of your heroics. Your gear should never be an obstacle. We want you to have the finest armor, weapons and class items that our merry little hands can muster. The more capable you are fighting orcs, the more success you have in your journeys and the more rewards you bring to the kinship as a community.
Most roles within the House of Trade are decidedly passive or active based upon your ambitions. However, the more active your Trade role the more benefits you will discover and the significantly more support you will receive in becoming a renown craftsman. In the House of Trade, you are the master of your destiny and the sole instigator of your success.
Our craftsman get paid to perform their services in the way of hard silver or gold, materials for skill development and other benefits.

Order Roles / Titles
Patron / Matron of Trade - The leader of the House of Trade, this patron provides guidance, recognizes trader achievements, organizes events and provides all other organizational supervision relative to the house. (Very Active Role)
- All Patrons assume a central leadership role and sit on the High Council.
- The Patron of Trade is considered a casual to active leadership role dependent on the level of support and number of active traders available.
- This Patron must be a player with at least 3 primary tier 5 trade skills (all trades excluding collection skills) with a strong understanding of crafting dynamics, general game mechanics, crafting quests, material locations and supplies.
- All Patrons are given editorial privileges on thecouncilkin.com website to oversee their section and all content related to house activities.
Vice-Patron of Trade - The secondary leader of the House of Trade. All above conditions and features apply. (Very Active Role)
Quartermaster - This important role maintains the kinship's master member equipment roster that certifies upgrades completed, due and assigned. Because we don't micro-manage every piece of equipment or ask for points or coin to be spent, the Quartermaster's job is very easy. All crafts have certain upgrade levels. If you maintain a positive standing in the kinship you get a new suit of equipment automatically upon reaching that level and based on your character class. Whatever pieces you do not need, you just return to the Quartermaster for re-distribution. The Quartermaster essentially coordinates with all tiered traders to ensure that everyone gets their upgrades. (Active Role)
- The Quartermaster has the rank of officer in-game.
- The Quartermaster is considered a somewhat active role that will have days of varying activity.
- The Quartermaster must have a working knowledge of all crafting proficiencies, with no absolute requirement for personal skill levels accomplished other then 1 tier 5 proficiency to ensure familiarity with crafting.
- The Quartermaster must be a veteran member who has displayed continuous loyalty and a proactive commitment to the kinship. This is a position that requires a great deal of honesty and trust.
- The Quartermaster is appointed by either the Patron or Vice-Patron of Trade. The Quartermaster may appoint a member of the House of Trade to serve as his Disciple (a designated member).
Quartermaster Disciple - Appointed by the Quartermaster to help coordinate member equipment upgrades. This is a relatively casual role that can at times be somewhat active. This role is a *designated member and can earn various benefits with more activity. The Quartermaster Disciple fills in for the Quartermaster when he/she is not available and will automatically be promoted if the Quartermaster role becomes vacant.
Master of Trades / Trade Master - This is a unique role that is earned by meeting specific milestones. This is the only rank that provides for an automatic promotion to Officer without any appointment or review. Officers are still subject to dismissal or retirement per our Charter guidelines. (Somewhat Active Role)
- A Master of Trades has the rank of officer in-game
- A Master of Trade member must have at least 2 or more characters in the kinship with one of them designated a member of the House of Trade.
- A Master of Trade must be a member of The Council for 3 months before being promoted.
- A Master of Trade must have mastered (Grand Master or better) 5 primary professions, not including prospecting and forestry. Only the designated character within the House of Trade will receive the title and promotion.
- Masters of Trade earn 100% of the treasury disbursement for each order completed.
Auctioneer - The Auctioneer is a very specific part-time role that is charged with scheduling and coordinating kinship only auction events. Absent a designated Auctioneer any appointed House of Trade member can fulfill this role. Unfortunately, the Auction House does not allow for indefinite kinship-only auctions, its almost counterproductive to use the AH to mitigate supplies among members. Until this changes, we plan to have a monthly Kinship Auction to make all members aware of all items available. You never know what may hiding out in another members vault that you never thought to request and they never thought to give out. Auctions are held for the benefit of the kinship treasury except where certain very high value items are considered. (Somewhat Active Role)
Council Trader - These members provide mastery level items to our members and mentor other up and coming Laborers. They also coordinate with the Quartermaster to help supply equipment to other members. (Somewhat Active)
- The Council Trader is a relatively casual role which can be more or less active depending upon trade mastery and ambitions.
- A Council Trader has obtained the mastery (Grand Master+) of at least one primary profession (not including forestry or prospecting).
- A Council Trader is considered an *Honored Member that qualifies for additional benefits.
- Council Traders earn 100% of the treasury disbursement for each order completed.
Laborer - A Laborer is a general member of the House of Trade who is enlisted to support and be mentored by a Council Trader. Laborers can also coordinate with the Quartermaster to help supply equipment and earn materials to help them develop their trades. (Less Active)
- A Laborer is a casual role, completely based on the players own ambitions and motivation to craft at any given time.
- A Laborer supports their Council Trader by completing those components for which they gain crafting skill. A Council Trader will send an in-game mail to the Laborer with all relevant materials and instructions for completing components.
- Laborers providing components for a Council Trader earn crafting skill and merit for their efforts.
- Laborers earn 50% for orders they complete themselves.
Supply Captain - This House of Trade Member is recognized for their prolific provisioning of basic supplies and materials to other Trade members for the purpose of advancing crafting skill or crafting equipment.
- A Supply Captain is a casual role, completely based on personal motivations.
- Supply Captains are designated by House of Trade leaders automatically and become Honored Members with access to additional Council and House benefits.
