
The House of Steel is charged with organizing raids and all related conquest events (including PVMP). The House of Steel also fulfills roles that provide mentoring, knowledge of end-game content and various levels of support related to end-game dynamics.
A House of Steel member is focused on character development and end-game content. For the most part the House of Steel is a casual to hard-core gaming experience depending upon the goals you have set for yourself and any role you may play.
The House of Steel provides honors and awards which recognize character development, gaming skills and conquest within Middle Earth.

of Steel Membership
Membership in the House of Steel is obtained through recruitment by any of its
officers. The Herald of Steel is specifically called upon to pursue those members
who share similar interests.
Roles / Titles
Patron / Matron Of Steel ( Ontaro/Ontarë Erë ) - Provides leadership to the House of Steel and appoints members to subordinate leadership roles. This position is a central leadership role that is ultimately charged with ensuring the momentum of the entire kinship in terms of character development and the completion of game content. (Active Role)
- All Patrons assume a central leadership role and sit on the High Council.
- The Patron of Steel is considered an active leadership role.
- This Patron must be a character of at least level 51+ with a strong understanding of class dynamics, game mechanics, regional quests and encounters and end-game related content.
- All Patrons are given editorial privileges on thecouncilkin.com website to oversee their section and all content related to house activities.
Vice-Patron of Steel - (vit'Ontaro/vitOntarë Erë ) - Is the House of Steel's second in command. The Vice-Patron has complete House authority in the absence of the Patron of Steel and automatically assumes the role of Patron in the event of resignation or departure. (Active Role)
Raid Commander - Organizes and leads raid events and those "chain" events which prepare members for raiding. The Raid Commander also appoints subordinate roles that provide raid support and oversees all raid related issues. (Active Role)
- The Raid Commander is central leadership role and sits on the High Council (this is one of the few subordinate House roles that do).
- The Raid Commander is considered an active leadership role. Levels of support and scheduling will dictate activity levels.
- The Raid Commander must be a character of at least level 51+ with a strong understanding of class dynamics, game mechanics, and raid encounters.
Raid Lieutenant (1) - Assists the Raid Commander in organizing and leading raids. (Somewhat Active Role)
Raid Lieutenant (2) - as above (Somewhat Active Role)
- Raid Lt's are Officers within the kinship to more effectively communicate and manage raid assignments.
- Raid Lt's are considered somewhat active leadership roles relative to scheduled events
- Raid Lt's must be at least 50+ with a strong understanding of class dynamics, and game mechanics.
- Raid Lt's are essentially the Raid Commander's assistants and can serve in his stead as needed. Only the Raid Commander can appoint Raid Lt's with a maximum of 1 Raid Lt. for every 50 Active Members.
- Future Raid Commanders are foremost chosen from any active Raid Lt's.
Raid Seer - The Raid Seer's primary role is to manage all raid related merit and assist in the raid leaders in provisioning loot accordingly. This Seer also updates the website as needed to reward or deduct raid merit. (Somewhat Active Role)
- The Raid Seer is an officer within the kinship.
- The Raid Seer is considered to be a somewhat active support role relative to event scheduling.
- The Raid Seer is given Authoring privileges on thecouncilkin.com website to facilitate merit and loot management.
- Each Raid Seer may appoint a Raid Seer Disciple to assist with their tasks and serve in their stead or replace them as needed.
Raid Herald - This Herald ensures that all raid events are properly announced on the website and via in-game mail. The Raid Herald ensures that all members are made aware of raid activities and information relative to preparation, scheduling and all character requirements. (Somewhat Active Role)
- The Raid Herald is an officer within the kinship.
- The Raid Herald is considered to be a somewhat active support role relative to event scheduling.
- The Raid Herald is given authoring privileges on thecouncilkin.com website to facilitate announcements, news and galleries associated with raids.
- The Raid Herald may appoint a Raid Herald Disciple to assist with their tasks and serve in their stead or replace them as needed.
Field Marshall- The Field Marshall is effectively the kinship's PVMP raid leader for events involving the Ettenmoors or other pvp zones.
- The Field Marshal is an officer within the kinship.
- The Field Marshall is considered a somewhat active leadership role. Their activity level will depend on the calendar of pvp events that they set.
- The Field Marshall must be level 55+ with a strong understanding of PVMP dynamics and related content and zones.
- The Field Marshall may appoint members of the House of Steel who have obtained 3 pvmp ranks to Field Captains.
Field Captains - Field Captain are *Honored members appointed by the Field Marshall to serve as leaders for PVMP groups and raids. Field Captains must be a member of the House of Steel and have obtained 3 pvmp ranks. This is a relatively casual role with activity levels dependent on each Captain's ambitions. Although not officers, Field Captains like other active *Honored members receive special benefits in recognition of their efforts. (Less Active Role / On Call)
Class Commander - The House of Steel has a Class Commander for every class currently in-game. The Class Commander is the primary mentor for that class and shares his/her knowledge on character development, equipment, quests, strategies and all other information relative to that class. [ Guardian Commander, Minstrel Commander, Lore Commander etc. ] (Somewhat Active Role)
- Class Commanders are considered a somewhat active leadership role and are officers within the kinship.
- Class Commanders must have obtained level 51+ in their class and have a strong understanding of all class related dynamics.
- Class Commanders can appoint members of the House of Steel who share their class to the role of Class Disciple (see below).
Class Disciples - These are *Honored members who belong to the House of Steel and have been recognized by their Class Commander as being especially adept and knowledgeable in their chosen class. This is an honorary designation that has the potential to be more or less active dependent on the motivation of the member to provide mentoring support. All *Honored members who play active roles have access to special benefits.
Steel Guards - These are *Honored members who have met certain milestones within the House of Steel. Steel Guards are mostly a casual role with little or no expectations. However, these members can decide to become more or less active depending upon ambitions. Steel Guards are chosen first to fill higher positions within the House of Steel.
