Our Kinship "Family"
We live by the virtue of others. Will unto thee as you would expect they will unto you. Be kind and fortuitous to all that you may meet, your brothers, your sisters, your kin and all other free peoples who share your battle.
Our kinship is dedicated to people who value their time online and recognize LOTRO as a virtual world for the sole purpose of pure entertainment. The Council has a "no tolerance" policy towards members who cheat, lie, steal, harass, or in any way detract from the game play of other members or players. Do not engage in any discussions or actions that can be construed negatively. Please refrain from discussions of religion, politics or other controversial matter in kinship chat that can illicit powerful emotions far separated from enjoyment of the game. Reserve such activities to private messages or fellowships with real life friends.
We aim to provide a positive environment for everyone that shares our gaming ideology. We do not accept or tolerate members who convey real life prejudices related to gender, race, sexuality or any other disposition that has no basis in our virtual space.
A Shared World
All Free People battle to save Middle Earth. Our force is theirs and their lives bleed free in the soil of our fathers.
Consider that most people play to enjoy the game and more often than not any conflicts that arise stem from miscommunication or a misperception. Be willing to give other players the benefit of the doubt before reaching a negative conclusion or at the very least make an effort to communicate in a respectful manner. How you deal with others is a direct reflection on you and our guild. If all else fails - /Ignore add name!
Kinship Chat
Bear witness to the truth of our goals and spare me the suckle of a new born babe. Let our words herald the path that our deeds may follow.
Our kinship chat and forums are intended for game related topics and not the purveyance of real life issues. It is not realistic that all real life is absent, however, members should make every effort to use /tells and maintain a decorum that does not make people uncomfortable or take away from normal game-play. Our LifeisLive Forum Board provides an outlet for real-life discussions.
The Council considers itself a drama free zone. We rely on years of guilding experience, a well structured organization and a proactive, supportive leadership to eliminate potential conflicts that are often seen in newer or less experienced kinships. If you like drama or seek to start a political career within The Council you will need lots of cash and some very compromising photos.
For One And All
The Council provides quarter to all who share in the adventure to deliver a peaceful Middle Earth!
Our kinship is focused on maturity, not age, quality, not quantity and most of all people, not characters. We have no expectation of skill, availability or other irreverent quality. We want to share our virtual life with great people who are looking for more from their kinship and its members. Many of us spend a great deal of time online and want to make the most of our online gaming experience.
Membership Is Optional - Our Future Is Not!
The Council shall strike a path of such resounding fury that all the centuries come and gone shall sing its praise and deliver its adventures in song.
If you have taken the time to read about The Council you will discover that we offer a very comprehensive gaming experience. Our kinship as a collective makes a significant investment in every members success. From our storyboards to Council Houses, merit and mentoring systems, the investment of time and coin is formidable. If you see your participation as a short term commitment for fast loot and/or quick levels while seeking "greener pastures", your involvement is lost in our long term goals of building a successful kinship. We focus on players who share our ideals of mutual support that leads to mutual prosperity and the rewards that come from developing real friendships while reaching greater gaming goals.Use the first two weeks as a recruit productively so you can make a constructive decision about your future membership.
All Paths Lead To Victory
The Council has no loftier goal than finding success as a family to which all the world will praise its virtue and victory.
Quite simply we want to win. Winning means different things to different people. The Council is made up of five Houses, each one themed to support various gaming motivations. We work as a family might to see that each member, regardless of their individual ambitions, has the tools and support to be successful. We raid, we quest, we solo, we duo, we dance around the party tree and run as chickens through the Breeland swamps. At the end of each day and over the course of every adventure, we offer a strong foundation to build upon and give our members more reasons to enjoy the game.
The Council does not measure itself by any specific gaming goal. We are not a raiding guild, an uber guild, a pvp guild, nor have lofty game requirements. We ARE a guild of like minded people. Ours is a path led by ideals, a sense of community and respect for each other that creates an atmosphere by which we have fun and enjoy a more fulfilling level of game play.
It is important to add that many guilds find themselves mutated into pockets of familiar cliques that often develop as members level or obtain certain ranks within the kinship. Our organization is specifically structured to avoid cloistering or favoritism. Our merit system, Houses, Storyboard and hierarchy all work from the bottom-up and automatically promote inclusion at ever level and rank. It can be said that newer, lower level members often get the most attention given various incentives and role-based features that each House supports. Our Merit system even assures that if you Want to be an officer and make a defined effort towards that path, you will become one. You can fulfill any destiny within The Council.
Judge and Jury
The Council shall be guided by the virtue of its wisdom and an assembly of its people by which all good men (and women) shall be judged.
We want to quickly resolve any conflicts, disputes or any other issues that take away from game-play. If you have a problem in-game that is taking away from your enjoyment of The Council or LOTRO please talk to one of our High Council members. Like you we are protective of our gaming time and want to take quick action to overcome any obstacles. We will work with you as much as possible to resolve any problems or as needed provide independent moderation.
Have
Fun
That it, just have fun! No thee or we, just do it.
